Healthwatch Tower Hamlets Celebrates Volunteers' Week

For Volunteers' Week 2024, Healthwatch Tower Hamlets dedicated 5th June to celebrate our wonderful volunteers and the invaluable contributions they have made for the organisation!

This unique event provided our volunteers the opportunity to meet each other and network with people who have similar interests and ambitions.

At Healthwatch Tower Hamlets, volunteers have contributed immensely to various programmes. For example:

  • They visited over 30 healthcare services in 2024
  • Successfully conducted 169 interviews with patients, staff and residents at GP Practices and Care Homes during Enter & View Visits.
  • Assisted with the collection of over 400 reviews from patients about health services in Tower Hamlets as part of the Patient Experience programme.
  • Carried out 174 surveys for research projects on Mental Health and Cancer Screening.

We would like to extend a big thank you to our volunteers for the time and dedication contributed, and we strive to support our volunteers however possible.

During the meet and greet, volunteers engaged in icebreaker games and other common party games. Light refreshments and snacks were also provided. All volunteers were presented with certificates, with top performers receiving small prizes as a token of our gratitude.

At the end of the event, volunteers were requested to share some feedback for Healthwatch Tower Hamlets. This is what they had to share:

Volunteering for me is giving back to society. Thank you Healthwatch Tower Hamlets for providing me with this opportunity :)
